JOURNEYS WITH WILL SHAKESPEARE

February 19, 2024  10:00 am - 12:30 pm
Join us for an exploration of
King Leontes in "The Winter's Tale"

A cycle of life, death and resurrection, "The Winter's Tale" is among the later romances of Shakespeare's autumn and is best treated with no grumbling about the unlikelihood of the narrative. It is a Janus-play of winter and spring, a Sicilia of the passions contrasted with those scenes from a Bohemian world that are direct from the Bard's own Warwickshire.
"A sad tale's best for winter." Act II, Scene 1

Rage, Mistrust and Magic by Candlelight
