To celebrate our return to classes, we are holding the second annual Coastal Senior College Homecoming Picnic on Monday, September 9 at noon at Oak Point Farm in Boothbay Harbor. This old saltwater farm is the new headquarters of the Boothbay Region Land Trust: https://bbrlt.org/preserves/oak-point-farm/
We will have a beautiful place to eat — rain or shine — and the building and part of the trail system are wheelchair-accessible. Bring your lunch; CSC will provide beverages, desserts, and paper goods. You will have a chance to learn about our fall and winter plans at CSC — and about the preserves, programs, and projects of our host site, the BRLT.
Following lunch, those who wish can join our first fall walk on an easy one-mile loop trail around the property. We will amble from our picnic location on a path through the farm fields, along the shoreline of Hodgdon Cove (Sheepscot River), past a pond, and back through the woods and orchards. No separate walk signup is necessary.
There is no charge for this event; it is a benefit of your membership! But you must register here because space is limited.
