A World of Song -- CANCELED

About this event

People of every culture sing. We sing while we work and while we play. We sing love songs and lullabies. We sing songs that celebrate the land we call home, songs of protest, songs of praise, laments, and silly songs. Even though we look different and speak different languages, we all sing about the things that matter in our lives.

In this class we'll sing songs that we grew up with and songs from other people that share the same topics. Folk songs need no special training or experience. Come as you are. Do bring your curiosity, your willingness to be open to new perspectives and, especially, bring your joy in singing. Let us create a tiny world community of song.

Instructor Susan Borg has been performing as a singer, teaching singing, and directing choral groups since graduating from Middlebury College more than 50 years ago. As a member of the world music a cappella group WomenSing, she enjoyed exploring the songs, languages, and cultures of our vast human family.
